Filmmaker Ava DuVernay Teams Up With Ben & Jerry's and Artist Nikkolas Smith For Educational Mural Based on Her New Movie ORIGIN

Last year, we teamed up with award-winning filmmaker, writer, and producer Ava DuVernay to churn up Lights! Caramel! Action!, a riveting flavor starring vanilla ice cream, salted caramel swirls, graham cracker swirls, and gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough. We are thrilled to have a partnership with such a highly acclaimed and influential artist who uses her work to advance social and racial justice. Her most recent film, Origin, explores how different cultures throughout history have created social hierarchies, or castes, and the toll that takes on people’s humanity. Look for Origin in theaters starting January 19!

ARRAY Alliance & Seat 16

Ava’s proceeds from sales of Lights! Caramel! Action! go to ARRAY Alliance, a woman-led non-profit organization that’s advancing social justice through art. ARRAY’s Seat 16 initiative is working to ensure that 10,000 young people across the nation get to experience Origin. Want to help? Gift $16 for a ticket and digital learning companion to help reach their goal and inspire the next generation of activists.
